Second Division League: Delhi Dynamos Reserves & Delhi United FC play out goalless draw!

Delhi Dynamos Reserves dominated proceedings, but they had to settle for a goalless draw against Delhi United FC in their Group A clash of the Second Division League at the Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi.

Dynamos head coach Fran Perez handed a debut to midfielder Aman Bajpai, while Pradyuman came into replace the suspended Amit Tudu in the centre of the defence. Sayan Roy meanwhile started in goal replacing Sukhadev Patil.

It was the Dynamos who started the game in ascendancy and had the better of the opening exchanges. Winger Sudipta Malakar troubled the Delhi United FC defence from the left flank and he could have turned provider for the opening goal had forward Seiminmang Manchong found the target from close range.

In the 10th minute, the Dynamos had another glorious chance to open the scoring this time through debutant Aman, but the midfielder’s header from the free-kick landed straight into the hands of the away team custodian.

The visitors grew into the game as we entered the half hour mark. Ivory Coast striker Koumae Konan caused all sorts of trouble for the Dynamos defence. His first chance came in form of a header, but he hit it straight into the hands of Sayan. Moments later a mistake by Pradyuman saw him clean through on goal but his effort from inside the box was a disappointing one and went well over the crossbar.

It was the visitors who had the first real opening of the second half. Delhi United FC midfielder Akshay Palishkar went one-on-one with the goalkeeper but his tame effort failed to test Sayan in Dynamos goal. With 15 minutes left on the clock, substitute Uma Shankar was fouled inside the box in what looked like a stonewall penalty for Dynamos but much to the surprise of everyone, the referee booked the midfielder for simulation.

The visitors had one final chance in the 88th minute of the game. Nirmal Singh combined well to find himself in an ideal position to test the goalkeeper but his effort was deflected away by a charging Pradyuman.

The draw leaves Delhi Dynamos with just one win in five games so far in Group A of the Second Division League.
