Kolkata giants Mohammedan Sporting Club will be looking to secure third spot in the ongoing Second Division League when they take on NEROCA FC in their last game of the season in Imphal on Sunday.
A win at Imphal’s Khuman Lampak Main Stadium tomorrow, will ensure a third place finish for Mohammedan Sporting (12 pts). However, a negative result would allow Neroca FC (14 pts) to grab the spot in their debut season.
While Mohammedan Sporting head into the game off the back of a disappointing Kalinga Cup campaign in Cuttack, Odisha, where they lost 4-5 in sudden-death to Army XI in the semifinals, NEROCA beat LoneStar Kashmir FC 3-1 in their last match in Srinagar on Monday, May 23.
The previous encounter at the Mohammedan Sporting Club Ground a month ago resulted in a 2-0 victory for Mohammedan Sporting, with strikers James Moga and Ajay Singh on the scoresheet.
The match in Imphal kicks-off at 2pm on Sunday afternoon.
