Soccerex Asian Forum 2016 Conference Programme: Session Concepts released!

In 2022 the football world will look to Qatar as the country hosts the region’s first FIFA World Cup. For many, this will be a culmination of a process that began back in 2010 when Qatar was awarded the tournament but for those in Qatar this will be just another milestone – albeit a very big one – in their strategic road map as outlined in the Qatar National Vision 2030. In this unique session we will here from the experts tasked with delivering not just the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ in Qatar but its ongoing legacy at a sporting and socio-economic level.
 
What will the Stadia of tomorrow look like? With technological advancements raising fan’s match day expectations, how can modern stadia meet these demands and what can we expect from sports venues in the future? Through a series of panels, expert interviews and presentations, we will be tackling these questions through first hand insight from some of the foremost minds in the industry focusing on their current projects and the developments they foresee for the future.

Where major football events were once purely the property of Europe and the Americas, the past decade has seen the football world expanding its horizons and over the next decade multiple Asian nations will play host to their first global football tournament, with many more tendering strong bids for future competitions. In this session, we will hear from the people responsible for these tournaments as they share their plans and preparations, from the federations looking to secure future competitions and from experts who delivered tournaments on the challenges and opportunities they can expect.

Recent global atrocities and scenes witnessed at this summer’s European Championships have brought into sharp focus the need to protect football fans against the twin threats of terrorism and organised hooliganism, both at and around the different stadia on match days and the many fan parks that are now a common feature of major tournaments. How do stadium owners and local organising committees stay vigilant against both threats without unduly affecting the fan experience? What technology, resources and management structures should be implemented to keep fans safe? This session will bring together a mix of event organisers, technology providers and enforcement experts to look at how football should be keeping its fans safe & secure.

With many millions of dollars worth of contracts available for tender across the preparation lifecycle of every major sporting event, just what is the best approach to presenting your company and securing the business on offer? Decision makers responsible for event tenders past and present will share their experiences and thoughts on what works best and the approaches that should be avoided.

This in turn ensures that stadia form an important part of the local community providing a myriad of employment and business opportunities. Here a mix of rights holders and technology experts will look at the importance of data in modern sports and how it should best be used to power improved performance.
 
Fitness and athleticism are essential elements of a successful team and so the health & well being of modern players is crucial not just to the success of the team but to the success of the wider club and its different business divisions. In an age where games are faster and calendars more demanding, how do you prevent against injury and ensure you have cleared all barriers to your player’s optimum performance? Through a panel of medical and sports performance experts, the Soccerex Asian Forum will provide detailed insight into the latest in injury prevention and how players can be kept fitter for longer.

Nurturing future talent – both in terms of the players and the trainers who coach them – is crucial to the development of football both at elite and grassroots levels. In this exclusive session featuring a mix of coaches, academy experts and former players, we will look at best practice in player and coach development whether its within the national set up, at a club or privately run academy and how the different stakeholders involved interact to ensure the best for all parties.

Marginal gains are at the heart of modern sporting success, with rights holders willing to explore a variety of innovations in order to deliver that crucial edge on the competition. Through a series of short presentations, the Soccerex Asian Forum will showcase some of the latest technologies and innovative practices that are being used around the world to improve training and sports performance.

Under the guidance of his Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Qatar have taken significant steps towards achieving the stated Qatar National Vision 2030 goal of transforming the nation into an advanced society capable of achieving sustainable economic, social, human and environmental development. With Qatar’s inaugural National Development Strategy 2011-16 paving the way for this progress, the thriving nation is undertaking a number of significant infrastructure and development projects aside from those linked to the 2022 FIFA World Cup QatarTM.
