Street Football continues to grow as one of the most popular urban sports on the planet and with its focus on moments of technique and personal flair, it is ideally suited to the modern digital age.

World Street 3s is football with a twist; no goal-keeper, only three players on each team and an absolute focus on the tricks and skills, it is all  about showmanship and showcasing the players’ talent.

Taking place in a purpose-built cage at the Manchester Central Convention Complex, The 2017 World Street Soccer Championship will see The Netherlands defending their crown, against teams from England, Belgium, France, Italy, Brazil, Balkans and Denmark.

Spectators will be treated to remarkable displays of flair and tricks from the world’s best street soccer players, including Issy ‘The Hitman’ Hamdoui and Orry Stok (Netherlands), Sean Garnier (France) and Soufiane Bencok and Leammsi (Belgium). The England team will feature rising street soccer stars Jack Downer and Kenji Parissody. The social media audience for street soccer stars is growing exponentially. The leading players have social media audiences that exceed those of even the biggest traditional football players and teams. The final stages of the tournament will be streamed via Facebook live by SPORTBIBLE.

This year, taking place alongside the World Street 3s will be the European Freestyle Football Championships. Featuring Europe’s best freestlylers and including the world’s number two female freestyle footballer, Liv Cooke, who starred in the recent Channel 4 advert for the UEFA Women’s Euros 2017 Finals. The Freestyle Championship attracts a huge global audience and this year will be streamed live on goal.com.

David Wright, Marketing Director, Soccerex commented: “We are taking the Soccerex Football Festival to new levels this year, bringing not one but two international competitions to Manchester. Fans will get to see some of very best freestyle and street soccer talents in the world – all for free! Manchester is in for a real treat!”
