Soccerex to highlight 2022 FIFA World Cup business opportunities through Qatar event in December 2016!

SoccerexSoccerex, the global football business event provider, have today confirmed they will be staging a new two day Forum in Qatar on December 5/6, 2016, with the support of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, that will showcase the huge business potential of the region.

The Soccerex Asian Forum 2016 will take place at the magnificent 5 star Grand Hyatt Doha Hotel and will provide the global football industry with unique insight, and access, to the key development projects ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. With more than 30 large scale infrastructure and stadia related tenders currently open ahead of this groundbreaking tournament, the Asian Forum will allow delegates to hear from, and connect with, the decision makers directly responsible for their fulfilment.

Nasser Al Khater, Assistant Secretary General, Tournament Affairs for the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy commented, “During Qatar’s bid to host the 2022 FIFA World CupTM and on many occasions since we won hosting rights, Soccerex has provided us with a crucial platform to disseminate our key messages. Furthermore Soccerex shares the Supreme Committee’s commitment to football’s global development.”

“Kindly join us in welcoming this opportunity for Qatar to further develop its growing reputation as a premier host of football and sport-related events”

The first FIFA World Cup to be staged in the Middle East is undoubtedly the pinnacle of Qatar’s commitment to football, and to sport in general; a commitment that has extended to significant investment in European Football through the ownership of Paris St Germain and Qatar Airways sponsorship of FC Barcelona.

In recent years, Qatar has also invested heavily in sports science and player performance with the state of the art Aspire Centre leading the way in athlete development and Aspetar, sport hospital that is a FIFA centre of medical excellence. Utilising this local expertise, the subjects of player development and sports medicine will feature as part of a diverse and thought leading programme offering expert insight into the key football business streams affecting the region.

In addition to the conference programme, the Forum will offer a variety of structured and informal networking opportunities, conducted around an exhibition that will allow a select group of companies to have an enhanced physical presence in this rarefied business environment at the HQ Hotel, the Grand Hyatt Doha.

Commenting on the announcement, Soccerex CEO Duncan Revie said, “I am absolutely thrilled to be bringing the Soccerex experience to Qatar, with the support of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, at this crucial stage of preparations ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The Asian Forum will showcase the passion and commitment of this extraordinary country towards the growth of the beautiful game and will provide an important staging post for the international market ahead of the tournament.”
