Soccerex, the global leader for the business of football, have signed a three-year agreement with the Municipality of Oeiras in Portugal to host Soccerex Europe in the Greater Lisbon area.
The inaugural Soccerex Europe will take place on September 5/6, 2019 at Tagus Park in Oeiras. The two-day football business event will focus on the future of football in Europe and will see over 1500 senior stakeholders, and more than 70 exhibitors, from across the world gather in Oeiras to learn, network and do business.
Oeiras has established a highly successful business and sports strategy which has led to the city having the highest GDP per capita in the country, and is home to the Portuguese Football Federation and the National Stadium. Connecting with Soccerex and inviting them to host their events in the municipality is part of this long-term plan to highlight the municipality to blue chip organisations in the sports, leisure and technology sectors from across the world.
Soccerex have over two decades of experience connecting the global football industry having hosted 45 events in 20 different cities around the world, including Paris, Los Angeles, Manchester, Dubai, Johannesburg, Rio de Janeiro, Mexico City and Miami. Working closely with regional governments, football federations, major leagues and clubs, Soccerex events have united nearly 70,000 business and soccer figures across the world to further their different commercial and sporting objectives.
Soccerex Europe is being developed in conjunction with an advisory board that includes Former Portugal International, Deco, European Leagues Deputy General Secretary, Alberto Colombo, Former UEFA Managing Director of Communications, Pedro Pinto, and Liga Portugal President, Pedro Proença who was present at the signing alongside Dr Isaltino Morais, Mayor of Oeiras and Soccerex, CEO & Co-Founder, Rita Revie.
