Sony Pictures Networks to broadcast 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup in India!

Sony Pictures NetworksSony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) as part of their bouquet of bought rights from world football governing body FIFA, will be showing the 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup from Colombia from September 10 to October 1.

The opening game of the tournament between host Columbia and Portugal will be simulcast on Sony Six, Sony ESPN, Sony Six HD, and Sony ESPN HD at 6.25h IST on Sunday, 11 September.

After the successful broadcast of India’s inaugural Premier Futsal in July from Chennai and Goa, this is another effort from Sony Pictures Networks to make the game of Futsal popular in India.

The reigning FIFA Futsal World Cup champions Brazil will defend their title in Colombia with some of their marquee players like Fernandinho and Falcao expected to create futsal magic with their footwork. So far, Brazil and Spain have been the only two countries to have claimed the title of FIFA Futsal World Cup winners with Brazil winning five and Spain winning two times.
