Sony Pictures Networks to broadcast International Champions Cup in India!

Sony Pictures NetworksBroadcaster Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) yesterday said it has acquired the exclusive broadcast and digital rights to broadcast the 2016 edition of the International Champions Cup across India .

“The acquisition of the exclusive broadcast rights of the 2016 edition of the International Champions Cup in India reinforces the Sports Cluster of SPN’s leadership in sports broadcast in India. After the success of the Uefa Euro 2016, we are looking forward to broadcasting the season-opening tournament of club football, thereby setting the stage for a great season.”

“We are happy to bring the most compelling football content for Indian fans,” SPN President, Distribution and Sports Business Rajesh Kaul said in a statement.

The International Champions Cup 2016 is the first tournament of the 2016-17 football season and the fourth edition of the tournament will feature Real Madrid, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, FC Barcelona, Liverpool FC, Chelsea, Leicester City, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur, Melbourne Victory, Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund, and Celtic Glasgow.

The International Champions Cup will begin later today, July 22 with Manchester United taking on Borussia Dortmund in Shanghai, China and will run through August 13 with matches to be played across North America, Europe, Australia, and China.

The telecast will be live and exclusive on Sony ESPN and Sony ESPN HD channels, while the tournament will also be streamed live on the SonyLIV app.
