St. Rock’s Youth Club thump Margao SC in GFA Third Division League!

St. Rock’s Youth Club thumped Margao SC 5-1, in the Goa Football Association organised Third Division League match played at Dando ground in Benaulim on Wednesday.

Kevin Almeida and Flesban Ferrao scored a brace each while Clinton Rato also added his name to the scorers list for the Majorda side. Floriano Vaz netted a consolation goal for Margao SC.

St Rock’s YC looked sharp and attacked from the initial moments of the match creating inroads through the Margao SC defence with Rajan Yadav and Kevin Almeida displaying brilliant ball game upfront for the Majorda side.

At the other end Margao SC struggled to get past the rival defenders with Alfon Faleiro, Savio Noronha and Floriano Vaz trying their level best to find a sight of the goal.

In an attempt early in the match, Rajan rushed through the flanks and sent in a ball to Kevin who shot the ball over the bar in an one on one with the goalkeeper.

Kevin soon found the breakthrough for St Rock’s Majorda in the 7th minute and went on to double the lead through Clinton Rato who fired the ball home from the edge of the box after dribbling past a couple of defenders in the 15th minute.

Struck by reverse the Margao SC went all out in order to find the goal and managed to open the account through Floriano Vaz but the resilient Majorda side scored yet another goal through Flesban Ferrao just before half-time.

Post Resumption, Flesban scored another goal in the 62nd minute while Kevin Almeida netted in the 76th minute to take the tally to 5-1.

In another match at Navelim ground, Sirvodem SC defeated Enfermos 2-0.

Freddy Niasso scored the first goal in the 31st minute while Clinton Vaz scored in the the 71st minute.

Enfermos were unable to post a challenge to Sirvodem SC and they picked a few cautions over the course of the game.

Goan Warriors edged past FC Sanquelim 2-1 in a closely fought encounter at Duler ground.

Pundalik Naik and Gajanan Govekar scored for Goan Warriors in the first half while FC Sanquelim pulled a goal back through Pravin Kajekar.

Elsewhere at Nachinola ground, St. Sebastian SC blanked Augustias Sporting Club 4-0.

Aniket Bicholkar scored a brace while Shalom Rebello and Alpesh Bicholkar scored a goal each for the winners.
