Striker Robin Singh rejoins East Bengal for I-League!

India international striker Robin Singh returned to training with Kolkata giants East Bengal Club this morning after a gap of three and a half years to sign for the red and gold for the remainder of the 2016/17 I-League.

26 year old Noida-born Robin Singh started his footballing career with the Chandigarh Football Academy in 2003 before joining the renowned Tata Football Academy, where the stayed for four years and became an India junior international.

In 2010 he joined East Bengal Club for the first time and made a great start to his young professional career, but over time his performances dropped, so East Bengal released him in 2013. He joined newly formed Bengaluru FC in 2013 and won that season the I-League followed up the Federation Cup the season after.

He left to join Delhi Dynamos in 2015 and a serious knee injury kept him out of the 2015/16 I-League. In 2016 he signed for FC Goa as one of their marquee Indian signings, but he couldn’t rediscover his earlier form as the team finished last in ISL-3.

Now Robin Singh returns to East Bengal under manager Trevor Morgan, who was his coach in his earlier stint too. After a wasted 2016, Robin will want to prove himself to get back into the Indian national team.
