Thailand fire coach Rajevac after heavy AFC Asian Cup loss to India!

After their surprise heavy 1-4 loss to India in their 2019 AFC Asian Cup opener, the Football Association of Thailand on Monday fired their head coach Milovan Rajevac.

“I hereby announce the suspension of Milovan Rajevac’s contract as coach of Thailand’s national team,” FAT President Somyot Poompanmoung said in a statement.

Rajevac had been appointed in April 2017 to lead Thailand but the performance in recent times have been on a downwards spiral after the Thais as defending champions of the ASEAN Cup had not reached the final.

Rajevac’s assistant Sirisak Yodyardthai has been put in interim charge of Thailand, who play Bahrain on Thursday.
