The Football Association of Thailand (FAT) on Friday, July 21 notified the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) of its decision to withdraw from the on-going bidding process for the AFC Asian Cup to be staged in 2023.
This means that China and South Korea will now contest the right to stage Asia’s showcase 24 national team event in 2023.
Interestingly the All India Football Federation had also shown an initial interest to bid to host the AFC Asian Cup in 2023, but a formal bid was never handed in to the AFC.
The United Arab Emirates will host the next AFC Asian Cup 2019 between January 5 and February 1, 2019.
