Three Minerva Academy youngsters to represent India at Football For Friendship Forum 2020!

Three young Minervans, Kartikay Singh, Aryaveer Singh and Aniket Kullu have been selected as India’s representatives for the eighth season of Football For Friendship (F4F) social programme 2020.

These youngsters are part of Minerva Academy FC’s in-school football development program and have been recommended by the club to participate in the F4F 2020. Kartikay is a U-12 player from St. Stephen’s School, Chandigarh. He represented St. Stephen’s in various tournaments & plays as a Midfielder. Aryaveer and Aniket study in St. John’s High School, Chandigarh. Aryaveer is a U-12 player whereas Aniket plays for the U-14 team. They both represented St. John’s in numerous school level tournaments and are enthusiastic about the game of football.

The International Children’s Social Programme Football for Friendship is implemented by Gazprom since 2013 and supported by FIFA aims at developing youth footballers and a healthy lifestyle, as well as promoting tolerance, open-mindedness and respect for different cultures and nationalities between children from across the globe. UEFA, FIFA, football federations, world’s leading football clubs, international charity foundations, famous athletes, politicians, and artists support Football for Friendship. Over the last seven seasons, the programme has united over 6000 participants from 211 countries and regions and over 50,00,000 supporters.

This year, the F4F programme will be held in the online format due to the global pandemic outbreak and will be supported by the 2020 UEFA Champions League. Roberto Carlos, Real Madrid and Brazil Legend, World Cup winner and 3 times UEFA Champions League Winner is the Global Ambassador of Football for Friendship 2020. The special digital platform will unite over 10,000 players of all ages as Young Players and Young Coaches. It will become the home for international children’s competitions and a playground where anyone will be able to train, join into the international mixed teams and play their favourite game in the Football for Friendship format without leaving the comfort of their homes.

The chosen representatives will spread awareness regarding nine values of the programme i.e., friendship, equality, fairness, health, peace, devotion, victory, traditions and honour. These players will also participate in the Football for Friendship International Children’s Forum online. They will have unique opportunities to find new friends from different countries, improve their football skills and find useful connections. They will also participate in the 2020 Football for Friendship e-World Championship (eF4F).
