U-18 Youth League: RoundGlass Sports & Minerva Punjab FC play out goalless draw!

RoundGlass Sports ended its U-18 Youth League (Punjab Zone) campaign by keeping its record of remaining unbeaten at home after playing out a goalless draw against Minerva Punjab FC at the Singhpura Road Stadium, Kurali on Tuesday.

Playing in red and white, RoundGlass Sports started very strongly, looking to avenge its defeat against the table toppers in its away game and had several close look-ins in the first 15 minutes of the game, but they were unable to convert the half chances that came there way. Despite the draw, RoundGlass Sports came away from the match with several positives, including keeping Minerva Punjab FC under a tight leash.

In the 35th minute, RoundGlass Sports forward Henry Vanlalsanga had the best chance to put the home team ahead when he had just the Minerva Punjab FC goalkeeper to beat from 25 yards, but his volley sailed over the bar.

After the changeover, RoundGlass Sports created a couple of good openings, but were unable to find the back of the net. In the 68th minutes, Freddy Lallawmawma came tantalisingly close to scoring from a free kick from 45 yards, but the ball swung a bit too much past the right upright.

In the closing stages, Minerva Punjab FC tried to create openings by using the aerial ball, but RoundGlass Sports back four thwarted the change in tactics with relative ease.
