As ingoanews reports, the false ceiling at the Tilak Maidan in Vasco came crashing down due to constant water leakage on account of incessant rains Friday late night.
This is the second such incident over the past year as the false ceiling came crashing down earlier also due to rains. Despite the repairs and refurbishments, the Tilak Maidan now appears to be wearing a dilapidated look.
The changing rooms, the VIP room besides the VIP stand at Tilak Maidan was found leaking throughout the day. The gymnasium which is located on the first floor was completely flooded.
The football lovers from Vasco have raised concerns over the pathetic condition of the stadium and have raised also question over the forthcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup coming to Vasco as the Tilak Maidan is one of the practice stadiums for the FIFA U-17 World Cup to be hosted by India in October.
