The virtual meeting was attended by 14 panel members from 13 Member Associations (MAs) who were briefed on the latest happenings and future developments in grassroots football.
The panel was updated on the widely acclaimed AFC Grassroots Charter where 38 MAs have been endorsed – three in the Gold category, 10 in Silver and the remaining 25 under the Bronze category – with an additional six MAs to be evaluated soon.
With the AFC Grassroots Charter making huge strides, members also discussed on ways to expand the AFC Grassroots Charter by increasing MA memberships and Gold members as well as to establish a system to collate data.
Panel members also examined concepts to increase mass participation by organising targeted campaigns, fun-filled activities, small-sided games and engaging with more people through social media or high-profile ambassadors.
Additionally, an AFC Grassroots Special Online Session 2022 with the title “Member Association Grassroots Programmes: The Priorities” will be organised on April 26, to identify and discuss the best grassroots practices among AFC MAs.
