The four-day course comprised of fitness checks and practical training sessions, which utilised the Instant Feedback System, as well as detailed theoretical training programmes dealing with topics such as penalty area incidents, handball, positioning and reading the game, offside, tactical fouls, challenges, and teamwork.
With the largest cast of women officials from Asia being appointed at the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup, a session was also organised for Ms. Kari Seitz, FIFA Head of Refereeing, Women, to not only encourage those appointed to the upcoming global showpiece, but also inspire other women match officials to dream for a higher goal.
The participants also gathered to examine case studies and analyse match incidents in order to be ready for a variety of situations that could arise during the course of a game.
The course formally concluded with an encompassing conclusion and feedback being provided to the participants.
With the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 only months away, the course proved to be an excellent resource for the Continent’s women officials to interact and learn from the best minds in the profession and was yet another example of the AFC’s resolve to uphold its Vision and Mission of ensuring its players, teams and match officials continue to shine on the world’s biggest stages.
