An important face-off for Jamshedpur FC against Hyderabad FC!

The Men of Steel registered their first victory when they faced FC Goa in their second game of the season. After grabbing the three winning points, Jamshedpur FC leaped to the top of the league table with a draw and a win in their first two fixtures of the 2021-22 season, and after delivering a dominating performance against the Gaurs, the club will now look forward to facing their next opponent, Hyderabad FC.

“We are ready for their threats because at times, they will pass the ball up and put pressure, so, we have to make sure we are focused on doing our job. When we get the opportunity to score, we have to take care of those chances, be offensively attack-minded and be very positive throughout the game,” said the Head Coach, Owen Coyle, at the pre-match press conference.

The two sides have faced each other for a total of 4 times in the past in the ISL out of which 3 games ended in a tie. Their first meeting in the last season ended in a draw after Hyderabad took a one goal lead and almost won the game with a slim lead when the former Jamshedpur centre-back, Stephen Eze, bought the team back into the game with a stunning volley that flew right into the back of the net in the last few minutes before the full-time whistle, thus concluding the game in a 1-1 draw.

The second time the two sides went head-to-head, the game turned out to be an intense contest of football with both teams giving their all to grab victory and move up the table in the second half of the league stage. However, they were unsuccessful in finding the net and closed the night with the full-time score being 0-0.

Out of the four meetings, Jamshedpur FC have never lost any of the games, but that doesn’t mean the Gaffer isn’t aware of the threat they pose this season after a solid performance against the defending champions, Mumbai City FC.

“To be in the league, one has to play different styles of football and I won’t say that they play the same as FC Goa, but they can come up with other sorts of problems as their forward and midfield line-up is very pleasing along with the full-backs that join in on the attack. So they do have some really threatening attackers and we will be very respectful of that,” said Owen Coyle as he shared his perspective on the Hyderabad squad this season.

Even though the Nizams did not get the desired result in their first game of the 2021-22 season after losing against Chennaiyin FC by conceding just one goal, even through a penalty, they certainly came back strong with a powerful performance against the defending the Islanders, thus showing what they are capable of with their young and attacking style squad. Jamshedpur also delivered a similar result after winning against FC Goa after drawing against SC East Bengal in their first game.

Needless to say that after successfully winning their previous game, it is plain truth that the two sides possess a perfect combination of young Indian players and experienced foreign players and both teams would be aiming to dominate the other when they face each other for the 5th time with a single-minded aim to climb further up the table to be in the competition for the play-offs spots.

Jamshedpur FC will be playing their first game at their home stadium of the season, Athletic Stadium in Bambolim, where they have maintained an undefeated streak since the start of the previous season, so one can except an exciting action-packed fixture between two attacking teams as they will give their everything to earn their second consecutive win of their campaign.
