Bengal beat Odisha to qualify from East Zone for the 71st Santosh Trophy!

The Bengal state senior men’s team scored a vital 2-0 win over neighbours Odisha in the 71st Santosh Trophy – East Zone qualifiers campaign in Bokaro, Jharkhand to qualify for the final round.

The game was decided late with Bengal scoring two quick goals against Odisha. First Jiten Murmu gave Bengal a 77th minute lead and then Monotosh Chakaladar sealed the Bengal win with the second goal only three minutes later.

Earlier Bengal had beaten Chhattisgarh 2-1, while Odisha had trashed Chhattisgarh 5-1 to set up a group finale between the two powerhouses of the East Zone.
