Joining the Blues in the tournament are Jamshedpur FC, Mumbai City FC, FC Goa, Kerala Blasters FC, Reliance Foundation Young Champs, Hyderabad FC, and Chennaiyin FC. As part of the Premier League’s partnership with the Indian Super League, teams that finish in the top two places in the RF Development League will get a chance to participate in the Next Gen Cup, set to be hosted for the first time in England later this year.
“The Development League is an opportunity for our youngsters to play matches against the best youth teams in the country. These are players who are looking forward to breaking into the first teams of Indian Super League squads, and I am excited to see where we stand among them. I’m expecting a very competitive environment,” said Assistant Coach Naushad Moosa, who will lead the Reserves into the campaign.
The Reliance Foundation Development League allows for a squad of 24 players sans foreigners. While players born on or after January 1, 2001 are eligible to take part in the Reliance Foundation Development League, each team may register up to five players born on or after January 1, 1999, of which a maximum of three players may be in the playing eleven.
Information pertaining to the Bengaluru FC squad, its fixtures, and more will be announced in due course.
