Borussia Dortmund open first International Academy in China’s Xiamen!

In 2023 Borussia Dortmund opens his first international youth academy in China – Xiamen. The academy is brand new build on a former golf course, right next to the sea side at a south point of Xiamen which is well known for its mild climate throughout the year. The complex is one of the biggest sports facilities worldwide in terms of number of pitches: 33 high class football turfs are build and 12 more are about to come.

The academy will train young players within the age group of U-13 to U-19. BVB will support with its excellent & well known youth football expertise, having BVB-coaches on ground to manage the academy, training teams and doing coach-to-coach sessions.

“For us, it’s a great pleasure to open our 4th BVB Academy globally and our first one in China. We will bring our youth football knowledge into this project, having experts on ground, promote the beautiful sport of football and help to build cross cultural bridges between nations & people,” says Benjamin Wahl, Head of China – BVB.
