The Black Panthers, who accumulated 20 points from 10 games, were on the verge of securing the runners-up spot and the confirmation came this evening after Tollygunge Agragami and Army XI played out a 1-1 draw in their CFL encounter at the Barasat Municipal Stadium.
The Club Management toady organised a special lunch at the club tent in honour of the Team that achieved the historical feat after eight long years. The players and coaching staff were felicitated with a custom made suit. The Club Management also gave Rs. 200,000 (2 lakhs) to the entire team as a CFL bonus.
At the function were present the Club’s Football Secretary Iqbal Ahmed (MLA), Working President Jameel Manzar, General Secretary Ghazal Zafar, Assistant General Secretary Ishtiaque Ahmed, Ground Secretary Mohammed Qamaruddin and other executive committee members besides former India captain Prasun Banerjee (MP) plus the Chairman of Club’s Team Selection Committee and current squad player Dipendu Biswas (MLA).
