Sporting director Paul Fernie said, “Dimo Wache told me about Alex’s goalkeeping qualities and also told me what a meticulous and hard-working professional he is. I completely trust Dimo’s judgement with the goalkeepers, which is why the new contract for Alex is also a ‘no-brainer’. We are all happy that Alex is so committed to the club and sees his future with the Lilies.”
Goalkeeping coach Dimo Wache said, “Alex is a very important part of our goalkeeper group, who pushes himself and the other keepers every week. In addition, he has proven that he can always be relied on in the games. I look forward to continuing to work with him.”
Alexander Brunst said, “Since day one, my family and I have felt very comfortable in the city and at the club. In addition, I feel a great appreciation from the club and the fans and identify completely with the Lilies and their path. That’s why the decision to extend was not very difficult for me. I’m really looking forward to the next three years in Darmstadt.”
Brunst joined SV 98 in the summer of 2022 from Danish club Vejle BK after a spell abroad. In Darmstadt, the tall back-up has played four competitive games so far. In the current season, Brunst played in the Bundesliga away game against SC Freiburg.
