Dempo Sports Club president Shrinivas V. Dempo, who was present at the press briefing, congratulated the players who topped the group after scoring a mammoth 38 goals and conceding just 2.
“This is a great opportunity for our academy boys to test themselves outside Goa and it will help them develop into better players in the long run.”
He also had a word of praise for the technical staff who worked hard to achieve success with this team. The Dempo academy team last week were crowned champions of the GFA organised Goa U-14 League.
Technical Director Karnagaran Naidoo was also delighted at the opportunity of testing his academy boys against the other teams in India. “This competition provides us with a great opportunity to see how far we have progressed over the last year and after our great performance in the GFA League this year we are confident of putting up a good show at Kolkata.”
