The all important goal was scored by Nigerian striker Somide Adelaja in the 19th minute of a pass from Prohlad Roy. In a keenly contested match the young East Bengal side held the edge and in the end went through.
With this win East Bengal qualified for their ninth Bordoloi Trophy final with an all win record after their fourth win in a row.
