Kolkata giants East Bengal Club have extended the contract of their Spanish centre-back Borja Gomez Perez until May 2021, which would keep him two more years with the red-and-gold.
The club in a statement said, “The La-Liga stalwart is one of the key members and motivator for the team both on and off the field.”
Borja Gomez Perez said, “this is the best team, and fans are the best in India!”
Borja Gómez Pérez had joined East Bengal from Spanish Segunda B side UD San Sebastián de los Reyes. Pérez has vast experience, having played in LaLiga and LaLiga 2 for clubs like Rayo Vallecano, Granada CF, Hércules CF, CD Lugo, Real Oviedo, Real Murcia, UD Logroñés and AD Alcorcón, besides FC Karpaty Lviv in the Ukrainian Premier League side.
