Eelco Schattorie named NorthEast United FC Head Coach for ISL-5!

Indian Super League franchise NorthEast United FC have announce that their Assistant Coach from last season, Eelco Schattorie, will be taking on the role as Head Coach for the upcoming season of ISL-5.

46 year old Dutchman Eelco Schattorie joined NorthEast United FC in the 2017-18 season as the Assistant Coach and was swift in acclimatising in his role at the club.

Announcing the decision, the club was impressed by his determination and stewardship and found it to be a unanimous decision in promoting him to the new role.

Having a rich legacy of coaching clubs behind him along with a UEFA Pro License, Eelco is known for promoting talented young players from the ranks and transforming teams to play a scintillating brand of expansive, attacking football.

Eelco Schattorie said: “Firstly I would like to thank the management for giving me the opportunity of becoming the Head Coach of NorthEast United FC. I am ready to ‘take the bull by the horns’ as I always like to say! I’m not a very diplomatic person, I always like to work hard and make things happen on the field. The only thing that I care about is my players, the club and the supporters.”

Speaking about the upcoming season, Eelco Schattorie added, “Hopefully it’s going to be a beautiful season and I’m looking forward to meeting the fans back in Guwahati and lets make it a beautiful journey!”
