Ellyes Skhiri came to Eintracht in summer 2023 from 1. FC Köln, and is now returning to that very club.
The Tunisian midfielder made 82 Bundesliga appearances for Eintracht and another 32 in European competition, recording seven goals and as many assists. His most memorable strike was the one to make it 3-1 on the final day of the 2024/25 season away to Freiburg, which helped the club qualify for the UEFA Champions League via the Bundesliga for the first time in their history. Skhiri featured in all eight matches of that subsequent campaign on Europe’s biggest stage.
The 31-year-old also played for his country this June at the World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the USA.
“Ellyes always put the team first during the three years that he spent here, and his performances and professionalism made him an important part of the club,” said sporting director Timmo Hardung. “We would like to thank him for his time at Eintracht Frankfurt and wish him all the very best for the future, both on and off the pitch.”
