FIFA World Rankings: India move-up into 97th, Germany retain top spot!

Earlier in the day, the latest FIFA ‘Coca Cola’ Men’s World Ranking were released by the world football governing body and in the April rankings, India have moved-up by two spots into 97th position behind Georgia, but ahead of Armenia; while Germany stay top.

India have 354 points, 15 points more than last month, but they dropped two places into 15th position of the Asian (AFC) rankings.

India’s next international matches could be in June 2018 in an international tournament it could host.

In South Asia, India remain in top spot ahead of Afghanistan (142th), Maldives (147th), Nepal (162nd), Bhutan (184th), Bangladesh (197th), Sri Lanka (200th) and Pakistan (203rd) in what was another mixed month for the region.

There were changes in the top 5. FIFA World Cup winners and FIFA Confederations Cup champions Germany (1,533 pts) stay top ahead of Brazil (1,384 points), while Belgium (1,346 points) moved up to spots into third ahead of Portugal (1,306 pts) and Argentina (1,254 pts), who both lost a spot and complete the top five.
