Final Draws to set 2026 stage for AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup & AFC U17 Asian Cup!

The casts for both the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2026™ and AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026™ will learn their Group Stage fate on February 12 (Thursday) at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Qualification for the next edition of Asia’s U17 women’s national team showpiece concluded in October 2025, with the eight group winners advancing to join four automatically-qualified sides. Meanwhile, seven group winners progressed from the Qualifiers for the men’s equivalent in November 2025 to complete the final line-up alongside nine automatic entrants.
The Joint Draw Ceremony will begin at 3pm, starting with the Final Draw for the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2026™, followed immediately by the Final Draw for the AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026™.

AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2026™ Final Draw

The 10th edition of the Finals will be contested by 12 teams—four more than the previous edition—and played between May 1 and 17, 2026.

The four AFC representatives from the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025 i.e. DPR Korea, Japan, Korea Republic and China PR were granted automatic berths, with the latter trio set to appear at every Finals. DPR Korea enter as the defending champions as well as the reigning world champions, having won each tournament a record four times.

Lebanon will be the sole debutant at China 2026 after succeeding at the third time of asking in the Qualifiers to become the 22nd team in Finals history.

Seven teams are returning from the most recent edition in 2024, namely Australia, China PR, DPR Korea, Japan, Korea Republic, Philippines and Thailand.

The 12 teams will be seeded into three pots based on a points system derived from their final rankings across the previous three editions of the Finals. The points from each edition will be weighted progressively as follows:

Latest edition (2024): 100% of ranking points
2nd last edition (2019): 50% of ranking points
3rd last edition (2017): 25% of ranking points

The pot allocations, with fourth-time hosts China PR assigned as the top seed and rankings indicated in brackets, are:

Pot 1: China PR, DPR Korea (1), Japan (2)
Pot 2: Korea Republic (3), Thailand (5), Australia (6),
Pot 3: Philippines (7), Vietnam (8), India (9)
Pot 4: Chinese Taipei (10), Myanmar (11), Lebanon (12)

The top four finishers at the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2026™ will represent the Continent at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2026.

AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026™ Final Draw

Staging the tournament for the third occasion, Saudi Arabia are one of the nine teams that were allocated automatic spots at the 21st edition of the Finals.

The hosts are joined by the other eight AFC representatives from the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025—DPR Korea, Indonesia, Japan, Korea Republic, Qatar, Tajikistan, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan—and the seven group winners from the Qualifiers.

Among the 16-strong final cast, 13 featured at the previous edition in 2025 that was won by Uzbekistan; of the remaining trio, India and Qatar were last involved in 2023 while Myanmar will end an absence that stretches back to 2006.

The AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026™ is scheduled to take place between May 5 and 22, with the top eight finishers qualifying for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026.
