This was confirmed by an examination carried out by Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt and the medical team.
The injury happened at Germany’s open training session at the Stade Camille Fournier, when Antonio Rüdiger and Thomas Müller in a one vs one collided with Rüdiger going down on the ground and he directly received treatment and later on the scan confirmed the bad news for Germany.
Head coach Joachim Löw and the rest of the management team will now make a decision on whether they will call up a replacement, with UEFA regulations allowing them to do so until the first matchday, which for Germany is Sunday, June 12 against the Ukraine.
