FC Bardez coach Armando Colaco made only two changes to his squad as Michal Silva was kept on the bench and Girish Naik took his place at right-back, while Koko Sakibo was out due to an injury caused in the previous match and Myron Mendes took him place.
FC Bardez started the match with a flyer as they got the first goal of the match in under a minute as Peter Carvalho struck a thunderous shot from 18 yards out and keeper Shilton Fernandes couldn’t save it. Vasco responded just four minutes later as Elron Rodrigues dribbled past the FC Bardez defence from the left flank and passed it to Franck Alves Kouassi who tapped the ball home to make it 1-1.
FC Bardez had another attempt in the 22nd minute as Alesh Sawant picked up Richard Costa’s pass inside the box and he tried a shot which struck the post and went for a goal-kick. The Panthers took the lead again in the 28th minute as Richard Costa crossed the ball to Latesh Mandrekar on the right flank. He controlled the ball and struck it straight into the goal to make it 1-2.
After the breather FC Bardez came close to doubling their lead in the 66th minute as Jessel Carneiro crossed in the ball from the right flank to an unmarked Richard Costa but he shot right at Shilton Fernandes. Princeton Rebello tried a nail-biting shot on goal in the 86th minute, but goalkeeper Bilal Khan stepped up and punched it away.
FC Bardez Coach Armando Colaco said after the match, “I am happy with my boys’ performance. Though we conceded a goal, it was a good display.”
With this win FC Bardez remain in the same position with 27 points from 18 matches while Vasco SC remain ninth spot with 13 points from the same number of games.
