The Under-18 boys of Salgaocar FC topped their group in the GFA Under-18 Division One league by beating St. Ana Sports Club 6-1.
St. Ana SC took the lead in the 12th minute through an indirect free kick awarded inside the box, Adarsh Adkonkar drilled his shot through the wall making it 1-0. But Salgaocar FC kept continuous pressure on their opponents with constant attacks. It was only in the 21st minute that Levy Pereira brought his team back on level terms with a sublime finish. Ribhav Sardesai found the back of the net for the Greens in the 36th minute which then opened the flood gates of goals. Levy Pereira made it 3-1 in the 38th minute with a calm finish. Josborn Fernandes made it 4-1 as he was in the right place at the right time to tap in a simple goal. First half ended 4-1.
The second half had a slow start as both teams kept possession. Salgaocar FC brought in striker Claide Fernandes who added his name to the scoresheet scoring with two quick goals in the 77th minute and 82nd minute as the match ended 6-1.
Salgaocar FC Under-18s are top of their group with a game in hand.
