34 year old Manipur-born Lalit Thapa played locally before playing for NEROCA FC in the Manipur State League. In 2007, Lalit Thapa joined Churchill Brothers SC, where he spend seven very successful years. At the Red Machines, Lalit Thapa won the I-League title twice, the Federation Cup, Durand Cup, IFA Shield and the Goa Pro League.
After Churchill Brothers, Lalit Thapa twice played for FC Pune City and Sporting Clube de Goa in-between before returning to NEROCA in 2016. He was part of the NEROCA squad which won the Second Division League and over the last couple of season has been part of their I-League squad.
Lalit Thapa now joins Gokulam Kerala FC like his former NEROCA team mates Moirangmayum Ashok Singh and Malemngamba Meetei.
