Indian Legends XI impress against U-19 Oorja Cup selection in New Delhi!

An Indian Legends XI featuring some of the greatest footballers to have played in India turned back the clock as they faced an Under-19 Oorja Cup selection infront of a well filled Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi yesterday, July 18 afternoon.

For the youngsters of Under-19 Oorja Cup selection, who have been picked from the national Oorja Cup program, a football talent hunt organised by the Central Armed Police Force to promote football amongst youths, it was a big honour to play against Indian football legends like Baichung Bhutia, I.M. Vijayan, Bruno Coutinho and Renedy Singh just to name a few of them.

The match ended in a one-all draw.

After the match former India goalkeeper and captain Bhaskar Ganguly was felicitated with a cash award of Rs 500,000 (5 lakhs) by the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju and Indian football legends Baichung Bhutia and I.M. Vijayan.
