The Werkself as Bayer Leverkusen are popularly known will continue to play in the traditional club colours of black and red. Eleven red stripes on a black background run diagonally on left from the seam to the sleeves. That symbolises the eleven players who will pull on the shirts looking for success of Bayer 04.
Other highlights include a polo collar with red lining, the prized club badge on the chest and the ‘WERKSELF’ lettering on the neck line whose font, as well as the squad number and the player’s name, is derived from the historic Bayer logo. The new shirt is made from a breathable material and thus provides optimum ventilation for the Werkself pros.
The new goalkeeper’s shirt was also launched alongside the new home kit and it was designed in discussion with the Werkself number one Bernd Leno. It is orange with black around the collar and sleeves. Both the away kit and the white third kit from last season will be worn again in the 2017/18 campaign.
