JAKO sign Technical Partnership with former Bundesliga club FC Energie Cottbus!

JAKO have announced a new partnership with former Bundesliga club FC Energie Cottbus. From next season, JAKO are again the official supplier of the Regionalliga Nordost (German fourth tier). Cottbus already played in JAKO kits from 1996 to 2006, the new contract is valid for three years until 2020.

JAKO founder and CEO Rudi Sprügel said, “We want to build on successful times together. FC Energie Cottbus has a special relationship with us, as the Lausitzers have played JAKO jerseys as the first professional team. I remember well how we drove together to Berlin to the DFB Cup final exactly twenty years ago. In the new partnership, we will do our best to supply all FC Energie teams with team sports equipment quickly and reliably.”

FCE President Michael Wahlich said, “We are very happy about the new success of this tradition-rich partnership with JAKO as an equipment supplier for our teams. On the weekend we celebrated the 20-year anniversary of the promotion to professional football in Germany and the DFB Cup final in 1997. Two days before, we were able to qualify for the DFB Cup in the coming season with the victory in the AOK Brandenburg State Cup. These are signs that, together with our new equipment supplier JAKO, make us confident about the future in order to achieve our goal of returning to the professional football and possibly to build on previous successes in the DFB Cup.”

On his return to the German DFB Cup, FC Energie Cottbus will play in a jersey, reminiscent of the game of the historic final. The top with red-blue longitudinal stripes and the white collar is equipped with a high-quality club crest. On the collar side is a skyline graphic of the city Cottbus placed. The blue trousers with white and red design elements as well as the white studs with blue and red design elements complete the look.
