Indian Super League newcomers Jamshedpur FC have announced the signing of Brazilian defensive midfielder Emerson Gomes ahead of ISL-4.
The 29 year old Bonito-born Emerson Gomes de Moura, better known as Memo, started his youth career with America-PE before making the switch to Pernambuco rivals Santa Cruz FC.
He would stay more than eight years at the club with loan stints at lower division Brazilian sides in Treze FC, Botafogo FC-PB, Crato EC, CA Ponte Preta and Oeste FC. After leaving Santa Cruz, Memo played for CA Linense, Mogi Mirim EC, Itumbiara EC, and América FC before signing for the Delhi Dynamos ahead of ISL-3.
The Delhi Dynamos were Memo’s first foreign assignment and he would go on to play 10 matches for last seasons semifinalists.
Now Memo becomes Jamshedpur FC’s third foreign signing after Spanish defender Tiri and South African winger Sameehg Doutie.
