Eintracht Frankfurt have secured the services of Randal Kolo Muani. The centre-forward will join the Eagles for the start of the 2022/23 season from French Cup finalists FC Nantes on a contract until summer 2027.
Kolo Muani firmly established himself as a key player for the Brittany outfit last season. A product of the eight-time French champions’ youth academy, he was handed his Ligue 1 debut towards the end of November 2018. After a loan spell at third-division side US Boulogne, the forward made his first-team breakthrough in 2020/21, registering 10 goals and nine assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.
A seven-time France Under-21 international with Congolese roots, Kolo Muani has racked up 75 competitive outings for Nantes to date. The 1.87-metre attacker, who took part in last year’s Olympic football tournament, has appeared in 25 of the club’s 26 league matches this season, starting 24. Not only has he found the net nine times in Ligue 1 in 2021/22, but he has also impressed with his incredible pace.
“Randal Kolo Muani brings attributes that we need for our game,” said Eintracht board member for sport Markus Krösche. “He’s fast, robust and a very good finisher. He’s also tactically versatile and can play in several different systems, which will give us even more flexibility next season. Randal’s potential has attracted the interest of many clubs. We’re very pleased that he wants to take his next steps at Eintracht Frankfurt.”
