The campaign, entitled ‘The world celebrates 2022 with LaLiga’, shows representative families from around the world who appear to simply be watching the countdown to the New Year. However, it is then revealed that they are in fact watching the final LaLiga game of 2021 which is set to take place hours before the year ends at midnight.
Brazil, China, Indonesia, Nigeria, and Spain are the countries where this campaign will be aired, and which include TV ads created specially with the broadcasters in mind, as well as digital content which will appear on various platforms.
Through this campaign LaLiga is once again seeking to raise awareness and encourage its fans around the world to enjoy the entertainment and the emotions that the game brings while welcoming in a New Year that is sure to be replete with thrilling football.
A matchday featuring seven local derbies
The last matchday of the year features a number of local derbies. In LaLiga Santander; Getafe CF vs Real Madrid, Atletico de Madrid vs Rayo Vallecano, and Deportivo Alaves vs Real Sociedad taking place on January 2, while Villarreal CF vs UD Levante and Cadiz CF vs Sevilla FC are on January 3.
Two derbies are taking place in LaLiga SmartBank: SD Eibar vs Real Sociedad B on 31 December and CD Tenerife vs UD Las Palmas on January 2.
