
It was a proud moment as the global football legend former England captain and current President & Co-Owner of Inter Miami CF visited the historic stadium. Beckham, who has represented legendary clubs such as Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and LA Galaxy, spent time interacting with young players and inspiring them with his journey.
WIFA office-bearers had the opportunity to meet Sir David Beckham along with UNICEF India Head Ms. Cynthia McCaffery and UNICEF Maharashtra Head Mr. Sanjay Singh. WIFA expressed gratitude for the opportunity to interact with Beckham and presented him with a token of appreciation.
Sir David said he felt “humbled” by the drive and resilience of the young people he met during his first UNICEF visit since receiving his knighthood earlier this month.
During his time in Mumbai, the former Manchester United and England legend also met with children and youth supported by UNICEF. He enthusiastically showcased his football skills at the Cooperage Football Ground on Thursday, 27 November, leaving the youngsters thrilled and inspired.
