Miroslav Klose to receive the 2017 Honorary Award of the German Football Ambassadors!

Play and respect, Miroslav Klose has always represented these values on the pitch, he was a true sportsman and role model for the football world. In addition, Miroslav Klose has made a lasting contribution to the prestige of Germany in the world and has gained great sympathy with his engagement in Italy (Lazio Roma) as well as with the German national team.

This proved to be the case for Italian Serie A side Lazio Roma in a game against SSC Napoli, when Klose scored a goal by hand with the score at the time goalless, he informed the referee and considering the honesty against the referee and the opposing team as the “most normal of the world”.

Shortly thereafter the former German national player was also awarded with the Fair Play trophy of AC Fiorentina. This is awarded by the club to players who are particularly distinguished by honest actions. These include, among other things, the events that have made the FIFA World Cup record goalscorer highly respected in the world and also honoured with the 2017 Honorary Award by the German Football Ambassador (Deutschen Fußball Botschafter e.V.).

The honouring and handing over will be carried out personally by German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel on Tuesday, May 16 at the German Foreign Office in Berlin.
