Both teams made several changes to their starting line-up after securing a place in the semifinals. Key players were rested and it was evident from the whistle that both teams lacked their cohesion and fluidity from previous rounds.
Aizawl FC dominated much of the possession but it was BVT FC that threatened first through Apuia. Aizawl FC’s Bright Mends then had a chance and BVT’s Dina Varte and Apuia combined well to test AFC’s defence again in a back and forth action.
The second half saw Aizawl FC again dominate possession and BVT FC resorting to hit their opponents on the counter-attack. BVT looked threatening on the break but failed to threaten in the final third.
Aizawl FC also could not make use of their possession and a second half introduction of Rohminga, Brandon and Albert could not change the outcome of the game as well.
Aizawl FC’s midfielder Lalnuntluanga was named the Man of the Match.
