Aizawl FC had the first real chance of the match with Lalthathanga coming close but it was Chanmari FC who struck first on the 26th minute. A freekick from Rosanga was met inside the box by Lalmuanzuala who put the ball in Avilash Paul’s net.
Chanmari FC threatened again through Vanlalbiaa and defender Lalhriatrenga made a crucial clearance after Aizawl FC keeper Avilash Paul failed to safely collect an aerial ball.
Aizawl FC got their equaliser right on the stroke of half-time from midfielder David Lalrinmuana.
Both teams searched for a winner in the second half but were able to cancel each other out in either end.
Liberian striker Alex Whittemore was a nuisance for Aizawl FC’s defence while Alfred, Lalthathanga and Jonathan Lalrawngbawla all spurned chances to score for Aizawl FC.
Winger Lalmuanzova was named man of the match as he was a bright spark in the flanks for Chanmari FC.
Chanmari FC will face Mizoram Police next week while Aizawl FC will square off against Chhinga Veng FC.
