With victory assuring either side a place in the semifinals, it was Chanmari West FC that triumphed in an action packed 90 minutes.

Both teams started brightly with both sets of fans vociferous in support for their team. Chanmari West FC’s undoubted star of MPL-5 Laldampuia then gave his side an early lead after a nice give and go with Laldanmawia saw him clear of Chhinga Veng FC’s backline.

An action packed first half saw Chhinga Veng determind to push their way into the semifinals as they saw MK-a’s shot just parried by the goalkeeper.

Chhinga Veng FC’s centerback K. Lalthlahlova received his marching orders after a foul outside the box, thus reducing his side to ten men. This resulted in his side reshuffling and pose less of an attacking threat.

Chanmari West FC’s striker Ramenga also received a second yellow late on in the game for a negligent act, but it would prove all too late for Chhinga Veng FC.
