Mizoram Premier League: Exhibition of attacking football as Bethlehem Vengthlang rally after falling behind!

mpl-chanmari-west-fc-bethlehem-vengthlang-fcThe third fixture of the second round of the Mizoram Premier League – Season 5 witnessed a thrilling display of attacking football with Chanmari West FC squaring off against Bethlehem Vengthlang FC with the latter staging a comeback to victory after falling behind at Lammual Stadium in Aizawl.

Bethlehem Vengthlang FC leads the table after Round 2 with six points whereas Chanmari West FC are yet to open their account after going down twice in their first two matches.

A bright start by both teams saw some brilliant vibrant football in the opening minutes with both teams looking for an early advantage. Chanmari West FC got their breakthrough after 22 minutes when R. Laldampuia scored a beauty to give his side the lead.

Bethlehem Vengthlang FC, determined to equalise, hassled and harried their opponents and looked to hit on the break. While their opponents, looking for a second goal before halftime did not seem to want to take their foot off the gas.

The second half saw much of the same with both sides creating chances in end-to-end action. Bethlehem Vengthlang FC got their equaliser in the 58th minute through Lalhlimpuia’s brilliant curler. With the score level at one apiece, both sides were looking for the kill and Bethlehem Vengthlang FC in the 75th minute Lalhlimpuia produced yet another magnificent strike to give his side all three points.

The match winner Lalhlimpuia was duly awarded the Man of the Match for his two goal-heroics.
