Dinthar FC started the match on the front foot with striker Michael, current topscorer of MPL-5 looking lively and setting up a chance for Bologun Hammed. But not to be outdone, ZO United threatened from a Mala freekick in the first period.
Dinthar drew first blood through Michael on the 20th minute when he converted Cho’s cross with a clinical header. And the goalscorer came close again on a couple of occasions as Dinthar looked to put the game out of contest.
Zo United pulled level against the run of play on the brink of halftime through Mala. The midfielder curling in a beautiful freekick.
Dinthar looked to reclaim the lead in the second half when they were awarded a penalty for a handball inside the box. Goalscorer Michael stepped up but was denied by the goalkeeper LK Hmangaihsanga.
Zo United, looking to take advantage of their opponent’s profligacy, pressured Dinthar FC’s backline but could not find a way past their dogged resolve.
Dinthar then found the winner as Bologun Hammed headed in the winner from a corner in the 83rd minute to grab all three points.
