With the opening-day result behind them, Mumbai City face a tough test against a side that has started the season well. Head Coach Manolo Márquez spoke about the mindset in the camp and the work done since the last game.
“We lost the first game, and we are not happy, but this happens in football, and you need to continue. When you have some days to train, you train to improve for the next game, and this is what we did. It’s not how you start; it’s always how you finish the season,” he said.
Defender Carlos Delgado echoed the Head Coach’s message of unity while acknowledging the quality of the opposition.
“It has not been the best start for us, but in football, everything can happen. We need to be focused on the next game and go step by step because there are a lot of new players, and we need to be together, compact, and focused. Against Punjab, it will be difficult for sure because they have very good players and are a very good team. We need to be ready, and we need to fight with our tools,” he said.
With a blend of experience and young talent in the squad, Mumbai City will look to bring intensity and togetherness to the pitch as they aim for a positive result.
The match will kick off at 7:30 PM on Monday, 19 October 2026, and will be broadcast live on Sony Sports Network and streamed on Sony LIV. Free streaming will also be available on YouTube. Live updates will be available across the club’s official social media handles.
