34 year old Romain Philippoteaux, who was born in the French commune of Apt, played in his youth for US Le Pontet and then moved to Espérance Pernoise.
He returned to US Le Pontet at senior level before going on to play for Dijon FCO, FC Lorient, AJ Auxerre, Nîmes Olympique, Stade Brest and returning last season to Dijon FCO on loan.
Now Romain Philippoteaux leaves French shores for the first time to move to India to join the Highlanders, who hope his experience will help the squad in the ISL-9.
NorthEast United FC technical director Ohad Efrat said, “Romain is a top player with vast experience and exceptional skills and creativity. With big boots to fill in our squad, we have high expectations. We believe that he’ll write his own legacy at NorthEast United FC.”
