Odisha FC Reserves face Rajasthan United FC in Durand Cup!

Odisha FC Reserves gear up for Rajasthan United FC clash in their second game of the Durand Cup 2023 in Assam’s Kokrajhar.

Despite the 0-1 loss to the Indian Army, Odisha FC displayed resilience and glimpses of attacking prowess. Niraj’s crucial saves and Adwin Tirkey’s promising free-kick attempt highlighted the team’s determination under Head Coach Amit Rana.

On the other hand, Rajasthan United FC secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory in their Durand Cup opener against debutants Bodoland FC.

William Pauliankhunm’s standout performance led to an early second-half lead, but the match was ultimately abandoned due to deteriorating weather conditions.

Nonetheless, the Desert Warriors secured three points from the game.

Odisha FC’s pre-match press conference was conducted on August 10 at Kokrajhar, Assam with Head Coach Amit Rana and Captain Rakesh Oram in attendance.

Amit Rana stated, “In our first match, we faced the Indian Army, and unfortunately, the result did not favor us. Currently, we are focusing on the positives from that match and addressing the areas where improvement is needed.”

“The squad is preparing accordingly, and our goal is to perform well against Rajasthan United. Our team has a strong mentality and the hunger to fight until the last minute.”

“We are coming here with our young team and our intention whenever we step onto the field is to win.”
